Day 7, Last work day and goodbyes
Today was everyone's last day at their sites. We were able to spend a lot of time with the family in the afternoon and the mother even brought us lunch to eat with us. Ellie and Rachael played some soccer with random kids. The kids of the family even wanted to help work and help us!:). It was a very emotional day and very hard to say our final goodbyes. It ended up pouring down rain at the end of the day so we had to run to a shack to say our prayers and thanks for the fam

Day 6, Culture day
So today we went and saw the oldest church in Guatemala and it was built in 1524!!!! Almost 500myears old! Wow! Then we went and saw handmade weaving and well that was just amazing! We concluded with another amazing lunch at the Volcano Hot Springs. Yes, volcano! I can check that off my bucket list haha. We also saw very interesting things on the way as you'll see:)

Day 5, Team Apple Jacks
Today I was with Team Apple Jacks at the third and final location. It was the furthest from the city and was surrounded by corn fields! We worked more on the foundation, which included leveling out floor some and mixing more and more concrete. We also moved about 500 bricks or at least it seemed. It has been very interesting seeing different stages of each site as well. We had so much fun today and had a great time connecting with the family and locals around the build s

Day 4, Team Natalie's Lucky Charms
So today I ended up cheating on my amazing team to go hang out with another team. I'm going to let someone from that team add some of their words here if they like. We mainly mixed and poured concrete. What great work on your lower back, ouch. We had an adorable little boy to play some soccer with at times:). They were almost just as amazing.. Nah, They were awesome too!

Team Cocoa, Day 3
I am with Team Cocoa and we were assigned to work on the house with the single mother of four. Our first day was very productive, I thought. Everyone did a great job and the kids came by after school to hang out with us and check things out. We played a little soccer and basketball with them on a local court. It was very exhausting after working all day, but a great time! Enjoy Team Cocoa's Photos

Meeting the families for Habitat
This afternoon everyone got to meet the families we will be helping and building for during the week. Everyone is so excited to help and meet the families on a personal level this week. One family is a single mother for four amazing cute kids. One family has their grandmother living with them with an adorable baby. The last family we meet was the grandmother's family and the granddaughter was here with her. They are all very happy we are here and had some amazing prayers
